Now MSA makes it easier than ever to own an MSA/Rose mechanical product!
Effective January 1, 2000, MSA no longer requires a factory re-certification
on ALL MSA/Rose mechanical fall protection products.
This policy change not only reduces the cost of ownership on MSA/Rose
mechanical products, but it also eliminates downtime when a mechanical product
is out of service, in the factory for re-certification.
With years of proven success in our mechanical line of products, we are
confident that the function of the unit, and the safety of the user, will not
be compromised by eliminating the requirement for factory re-certification.
This "no re-certification" policy does not mean that routine
inspections do not need to be performed. All users of MSA/Rose mechanical
products are still required to perform a pre-use inspection and a formal
inspection of each mechanical unit in accordance with the product's
instructions, and as outlined in appropriate OSHA regulations and ANSI
standards.
If any mechanical product is worn or damaged, or it is involved in a fall,
it must be removed from service immediately and returned to an authorized
MSA/Rose Service Center for repair. Also, we will continue to provide a
re-certification service on any mechanical unit if it is requested.
