Customized V-Gard® Caps Honor Three Rivers Stadium Implosion

On Sunday, February 11, 2001, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, witnessed the end of an era as Three Rivers Stadium tumbled into a cloud of rubble to the ground it had stood upon since 1970.

No longer will Pittsburgh sports fans be able to gaze upon the field where Roberto Clemente's 3,000th and final hit took place or where Franco Harris made his Immaculate Reception. Even concert-goers can no longer scream out over the din at their favorite musical groups from the cheap seats of a structure that stood solidly for three decades.

To commemorate this historical implosion, MSA presented a total of 200 "Thirty Years of Champions" VGard® hardhats to the McClatchy and Rooney families, media personnel, and others involved with the demolition festivities. According to Jim Byrnes, MSA’s product line manager for industrial head protection, these helmets feature a high-quality full-color photographic image of the stadium plus commemorative text, thanks to MSA's new Image 2000sm technology.

"With the Image 2000 process," said Byrnes, "we can reproduce any full-color, photo-quality image on a white helmet. Customization is easy. You can choose any logo or image you want, unlike a decal or standard imprinting technique."

In fact, MSA is the only manufacturer who offers picture-quality logo reproduction service for hardhats. Your image or logo can appear on the front, back, and/or sides of the shell, as you wish. And, as with all V-Gard Caps, you can choose from four suspensions: Staz-On®, Fas-Trac®, UniPro®, and Swing Ratchet.

So, the next time you'd like to get the attention of your customers, business associates, or the press, why not commemorate your organization's special event with customized Image 2000 imprinted helmets?
