Ultima® Plus Digital Network boosts gas detection capabilities

MSA’s Instrument Division is very pleased to announce the new Ultima® Plus Digital Network System. This permanently installed system combines the state-of-the-art high-performance gas detection of MSA’s proven Ultima monitor with the latest digital communication technology.

This system offers easy installation, peer-to-peer communication, fail-safe operation through system redundancy, the proven Ultima gas monitor, reduced wiring and installation costs, unlimited number of system configurations and layouts, and compatibility with other third-party devices and network protocols.

Ultima Plus components can be placed anywhere along the network. Each device has its own identity and the capability to communicate and interact with any other device along that network.

First, the Ultima Plus Monitor, the heart of the system, provides all gas detection for the network, such as a build-up of combustible gases, the presence of toxic gases, and oxygen deficiency and enrichment.

The second component, the Ultima Plus Relay Module provides all alarm relay contacts for each of the three alarm levels and fault conditions within the gas monitors.

Third, the Ultima Plus Display Model provides remote viewing status for up to eight gas monitors and displays gas reading, alarm, and fault conditions, plus the date of last calibration.
