New
sensors for NH3, Cl, & ClO2 expand gas-detection capabilities
MSA's
Instrument Division has expanded gas monitoring capabilities by offering
new sensor choices for the FiveStarŪ Alarm, the TIM Total Instrument Manager
System, and the family of ResponderŪ Alarms.
Now, users of MSA's FiveStar multi-gas alarm may choose chlorine, chlorine
dioxide, or ammonia sensors when choosing five gases they want to monitor
simultaneously. FiveStar sensors are available to detect oxygen, combustible
gases, and nine toxic gases. The new sensors make the device ideal for
use in applications such as chemical production, food and beverage, HazMat,
petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, semiconductors, and water/wastewater
treatment industries.
To streamline instrument calibration, FiveStar Alarm ammonia and chlorine
sensors are now compatible with MSA 's TIMŪ Total Instrument Manager System.
As a tool for computerized calibration and record-keeping, the TIM System
can be configured to calibrate up to four instruments at the same time.
A unique auto-recognition feature eliminates the need to change setups
between tests, and helps to save on costly calibration gases. Immediately
after bump-testing or calibration, the TIM System displays -- and prints
-- the calibration results, which are stored in the system's user-friendly
archive. Once stored, records are unalterable and easily retrieved when
needed.
Rounding
out the increased sensing capabilities are MSA ResponderŪ Alarms, now
available with chlorine and chlorine dioxide sensor options. The clear
choice for single-gas detection, these pocket-sized alarms are compact,
lightweight, and user friendly. Ideal for a variety of applications, the
units feature large digital displays, along with the triple alarm capabilities
(audible, visible, and vibrating) for reliable protection.
