Larry Knutson of Plano, Texas, was turning a piece of pecan wood on his lathe this past December when he decided to put on an MSA Safety Works® faceshield he had purchased from his Home Depot home improvement retailer.

Good thing he did, because, as the wood was turning, a large portion broke off and smashed directly into the shield. The faceshield protected Knutson from serious injury, and like other grateful customers, Knutson was presented with MSA’s Gold Helmet Award.
